Healthy + Yummy = SCORE!!! 🙂  And that’s exactly what Cezerye (pronounced  jehz-air-yeh) is!!!   This is a yummy Turkish confectionary with the main ingredient of Carrots!  It contains lots of Minerals and Vitamins such as, A1, B1, B2 & E!

I think they also look pretty festive for the Holidays, so I am taking this Turkish Treat to a party to share with everyone!!!  Hope you like this Guilt-Free Yummy, just as much as I do!! 🙂

INGREDIENTS:

You Need:

1 Pound Carrots, finely grated

1 Cup Brown Sugar, packed

2 tsp Ground Cinnamon

1 tsp Vanilla Extract

1/2 Cup Nuts, chopped  (your choice of Walnut, Almonds, Pistachio or Pecans)

1 Cup Graham Crackers, crushed

Coconut Flakes, unsweetened

COOK CARROTS & BROWN SUGAR

COOK CARROTS & BROWN SUGAR

Grate the Carrots and place in a pan on med/low heat with the Brown Sugar.  Let mixture come to a boil and add lid.

Stir Occasionally and Cook until the Carrots are Soft and the Brown Sugar and Water (from carrots) has Evaporated.

(This might take about 25 minutes total… so keep an eye on it – gas & electric stoves work differently.)

Take off of Heat and Let Cool about 5-10 minutes.

ADD GRAHAM CRACKERS

In a separate bowl, or in the same pan, Mix in the Graham Crackers.

Next add chopped Nuts, Cinnamon & Vanilla.  Mix Well.

ROLL

Roll Carrot Mixture into Meat Ball Size or Smaller, and Roll into Shredded Coconut, Covering all sides.

Place Cezerye in an airtight container and keep refrigerated until ready to serve.  These will keep for about 5 days.
